Traditional Drip Coffee Brewers
Each top-of-the-line, drip brewing system that we utilize at Rome Refreshment Services contains a holding tank that is prefilled with water. When the machine is turned on, the water in the holding tank is brought to near boiling point using a thermostatically controlled heating element. Some of our newer models keep the water at roughly 150 degrees, then boost the temperature to 200 degrees which conserves energy during the brew. When water is pushed into the top-mounted tray, it descends into a funnel and tube which delivers the cold water to the bottom of the boiler. The less dense hot water in the boiler is displaced out of the tank and into a tube leading to the spray head, where it drips into a brew basket containing the ground coffee. The spray head must have at least 8 drip holes in order to deliver the optimal amount of water to the coffee grounds and create that incredibly delicious cup of drip coffee we all crave.
Traditional Drip Coffee Machines
We offer 2 different types of machines for traditional drip coffee brewing. The first is a 3-burner machine that has 3 heating elements where the coffee pot is placed to keep warm. The other machine is a telescoping brewer. This machine is an adjustable height brewer, meaning it can brew into 3 different types of coffee containers: the super bowl, server and airpot by merely adjusting its height up or down. The telescoping brewer has a fully programmable computer board inside with 3 programmable buttons and an LCD screen display for the users. The 3 buttons on the brewer can be programmed in terms of mild, medium or bold strength and half-brew or full sized cups of coffee. The LCD screen can also be programmed to display the company’s name using the office coffee service.
Our traditional coffee machines brew large amounts of coffee at once to suit large groups, busy offices or convention centers. It will require more coffee grounds, but can brew 2 gallons of coffee in one cycle.
Traditional Drip Coffee Containers
All of the traditional drip coffee makers utilized at Rome Refreshment Services have the same basic characteristics. The only attribute of the brewer that changes is the container that holds the freshly brewed coffee. We offer 4 types of regular sized coffee containers such as a glass pot, a super bowl, also known as a vaculator, a server with sight gauge and an airpot with sight gauge.
The super bowl allows the coffee to brew directly into the container. The metal decanter that stores the freshly brewed coffee is unexposed to oxygen, thus significantly decreasing staling when compared to glass pots. The metal decanter requires no heating element and can hold heat for roughly 3-4 hours.
The server and airpot are both glass-lined containers which have a sight gauge, allowing customers to see if coffee is available without opening the lid and allowing the coffee to stale from oxygen exposure. Both the server and airpot hold heat for a lengthy 4-6 hours, allowing for the entire delicious pot of coffee to taste like it was freshly brewed. The only difference between the two containers is that the server uses gravity to dispense the coffee while the airpot uses a pumping mechanism.
